UART 125Khz EM4100 RFID Basics

Things you will need :

UNO Development board

UART 125Khz EM4100

A EM4100/EM4102 ID Card

Breadboard

Jump wires

 

Ok to start you would want to upload the following sketch to your arduino or similar development board:

 UART_125Khz_EM4100_RFID_Basics.ino

 

Next you would need to copy the following layout:

Here is my layout:

It is a good idea to tape the insulated wire to the coil, because the the coil wire is very fragile and helps to strengthen it.

Next we need to plug in the development board to power up and view the serial output.

Once connected open your Arduino IDE and then open the serial monitor as follows:

Once opened the code will print the following:

Now you can hold your card over the coil. You will see the follow printed out:
